Specialist Consultant Spine Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical procedures on patients with spinal disorders, including foraminotomy, laminectomy, and spinal fusion
• Conduct thorough consultations and examinations of patients to determine the best course of treatment
• Collaborate with other medical professionals to provide comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for patients
• Monitor and treat post-surgical patients, including managing pain, infections, and other complications
• Keep detailed and accurate records of patient care and surgical procedures
• Stay current with the latest advances and techniques in spine surgery through attending conferences, workshops, and seminars
• Maintain strong communication with patients and their families, providing education and support on their condition and treatment plan
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Mentor and supervise junior surgeons and medical students in the specialty of spine surgery
• Collaborate with hospital administration to improve processes and enhance patient care
  

Requirements

• Valid medical degree and specialized training in spine surgery
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery with a specialization in spine surgery
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Specialist/ Consultant Spine Surgeon
• Proficient in performing a wide range of spine surgeries and utilizing the latest techniques and technologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients and collaborating with other medical professionals
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with advancements in the field
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior surgeons and medical students
• Flexibility to work on-call and handle emergency surgical cases
