Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial and accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Compliance and Control:
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Audit and Risk Management:
- Manage and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff.
- Strategic Planning:
- Support the CFO in developing and executing the company’s financial strategy.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to other members of the executive team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or equivalent role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Organizational Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Work Environment:
- This position is typically based in an office setting, with a standard 40-hour work week. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Light physical effort may be required.
