Staff Nurse-Emergency Room

Job Description

The Staff Nurse is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The Staff Nurse supports professional nursing practice across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The Staff Nurse will understand, support and promote the mission, vision and values of SSMC; provides age-appropriate patient care according to the Nursing Scope of Practice as defined by the regulatory body. The Staff Nurse will adhere to and promote the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and UAE.

• Demonstrates clinical competency in the triage process, including the follow up assessments.
• Demonstrates competence in resuscitation and is familiar with the roles during the resuscitation process of the different patient groups, including the prevention of complications
• Demonstrates and maintains emergency care knowledge enabling the delivery of a high standard of clinical care to patients
• Demonstrates knowledge and competence in assessing the complex emergency patient care needs / situations.
• Demonstrates and maintains knowledge and competence in receiving patients brought in by helicopter including safety on the helipad
• Demonstrates knowledge and competence with the care and management of ventilated patients including the prevention of complications.
