CIVIL INSPECTOR - STEEL STRUCTURAL

JOB TITLE: CIVIL INSPECTOR STEEL STRUCTURAL

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Inspector with expertise in steel structural inspection to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering particularly in steel structural inspection and a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct thorough inspections of steel structural components at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with design specifications industry standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Review construction drawings specifications and project documents to understand project requirements and identify potential issues.

3. Monitor and evaluate the quality of steel structural workmanship materials and installation techniques.

4. Document inspection findings including nonconformities and deviations from approved plans and prepare detailed reports for project stakeholders.

5. Collaborate closely with project managers engineers contractors and other stakeholders to address construction issues and resolve technical challenges.

6. Conduct site visits and participate in meetings with project teams to provide technical guidance and support.

7. Verify adherence to safety protocols and procedures on construction sites to promote a safe working environment.

8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and assist in their professional development.

9. Stay informed about emerging trends technologies and best practices in steel structural inspection and civil engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on steel structural inspection.

3. Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings specifications and technical documents.

4. Strong knowledge of relevant codes standards and regulations (e.g. AISC ASTM ASCE).

5. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.

6. Proven ability to conduct thorough inspections identify issues and provide actionable recommendations for resolution.

7. Detailoriented with strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment.

9. Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.

10. Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g. AWS Certified Welding Inspector) preferred.
