LHH is currently seeking an Assistant Manager (Branch Operations) for our client in Augusta, GA. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Branch Manager to oversee Route Drivers and Customer Deliveries, ensuring a culture of safety, growth, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
Safety Leadership and Compliance:
- Champion a safety-focused culture
- Drive safe work practices through coaching and training initiatives.
- Conduct safety incident investigations and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, overseeing training and recordkeeping.
Personnel and Talent Development:
- Lead and supervise direct reports, aligning with organizational policies and laws.
- Manage staffing levels, partnering with Human Resources for recruitment and retention strategies.
- Delegate tasks to enhance efficiency and staff development.
- Handle performance management and resolve issues to foster a positive work environment.
Customer Service and Business Management:
- Maintain superior customer service standards, handling inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Oversee sales-related paperwork and inventory management.
- Collaborate with outside sales representatives and support their efforts.
- Assist the Branch Manager in operations, profitability, and customer service.
Qualifications:
- Possess 2+ years of logistics experience, with a focus on short-haul distribution.
- Proven ability to create and execute action plans for business improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a sense of urgency.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and goal-driven.
- Capability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and basic leadership abilities.
- Associate's Degree in Business or related field preferred, with supervisory experience.
- Retail experience with a focus on customer service and sales improvement.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP
