C4C Canada

Inspired by the NFB/SNC’s community development project Challenge for Change, C4C is an independent non-partisan charitable organization that works to create greater inclusion and prosperity in Canada through media and arts. We use the power of storytelling to create empathy, understanding and relationships required for individuals and communities to thrive. We produce and support activities to build bridges through education and engagement, content creation and distribution. We believe in the power of collaborations and work in partnership with foundations and philanthropists, who wish to support the charitable activities of individuals, communities, nonprofits and social purpose organizations including Inspirit Foundation, McConnell Foundation, the Vancouver Community Foundation and The Trottier Family Foundation/La Fondation Familiale Trottier. Our current focus is on community journalism and educational and engagement activities for documentaries that support the public’s knowledge and appreciation of Canadian culture. To this end we are currently working with The Discourse to support a number of projects that encourage a diversity of voices in journalism including La Converse focused on community journalism in Quebec, IndigiNews platform in BC, and the Canadian Journalist of Colour RISE conference. We are also collaborating with Story Money Impact on projects to support discourse across differences through educational and engagement activities related to documentaries including Good Pitch Vancouver Virtual, THE POD and campaigns associated with films such as The World is Bright.
