About the Role

Our client an established turbomachinery service and manufacturing business is expanding its UAE workshop and wants an experienced Workshop Engineer to join the team. You will be the technical lead on workshop projects involving steam turbines centrifugal compressors and pumps from the first plan to final delivery.

The role connects engineering design with hands-on work on the shop floor. You will make sure every job is technically sound on time and on budget and you will help improve processes and equipment performance.

What You Will Do

• Plan schedule and manage technical projects workshop jobs and testing from start to finish keeping to time cost and resource targets
• Review and sign off engineering layouts and manufacturing drawings
• Carry out engineering calculations and analysis including FEA and 3D modelling and choose the right level of analysis for each problem
• Use engineering software and your own programming or scripting to solve technical problems
• Lead improvement work that raises equipment performance reliability and cost efficiency
• Write and maintain technical documentation and engineering procedures
• Bring new ideas and bring in modern technology and methods
• Give technical support to sales procurement production service and project teams
• Coordinate across departments so work stays on track
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians
• Report progress regularly to management

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
• Solid experience in a turbomachinery or rotating equipment workshop either manufacturing or service
• A proven record of managing engineering projects including budgets and schedules
• Professional engineering registration or chartership is an advantage

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of turbines compressors and pumps
• Hands-on experience with FEA and 3D/solids modelling
• Programming ability for engineering use
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical teams
• Leadership skills and an interest in mentoring others
• A proactive approach to quality productivity and keeping your skills current
