Primary purpose of job
The Senior Operations Engineer provides critical support to well services offshore operations as he/she coordinates with all
QatarEnergy teams to gather their requirements through routine & nonroutine meetings prepares weekly quarterly and
yearly plans for barges and vessels prepares operations programs ensures HSE compliance in work programs and
provides engineering support to operations team as and when required.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Coordinating the overall offshore well service planning from all stakeholders (such as Well Surveillance Well
Integrity Wellhead operations Production etc) to ensure an optimum & efficient activity plan under well services scope in
accordance with the company policies & guidelines. Gather consolidated SOW for execution by Well Services Operations
team. Review well history and reports and advise for appropriate action plans to mitigate integrity and operational risks.
2. Implement best practices within the organization and ensure continuous improvement based on lessons learned and
manage the implementation of trials to test new well services technologies and techniques supplied by various contractors
to find fitforpurpose solutions for offshore wells.
3. Prepare well services operations business plans (Weekly Monthly Quarterly) based on wells priority and operations
criticality as advised by stakeholders.
4. Provide engineering support to Well Services Operations team and ensure smooth and safe workflow. Ensure that all
well services programs are prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Drilling Reference Manual (DRM) and by
identifying and mitigating risks through a systematic hazard management approach in compliance to QatarEnergy HSE
policy.
5. Develop performance management initiatives for well services activities and ensure KPI inputs are gathered
evaluated and reported. Also prepare the well services scope budget forecast and actual utilization.
6. Initiate and participate in well services contract tenders and technical evaluation till award.
7. Monitor the validation of field data gathered and integrity of data entered into the open well database.
8. Maintain contact with industry on well services issues to ensure QatarEnergy well services operations are aligned
with current industry best practices. Including implement new technologies within well services department and provide
detailed technical reports upon completion.
9. Investigate operational problems and analyze root causes to cure and prevent their reoccurrences. Also participate
in studies addressing specific operational integrity and well services problems and prepare appropriate recommendations /
action plan for the proposed solution.
10. Develop and mentor Qatari development staff in the petroleum engineering skills related to well services through
office/wellsite assignments trainings and presentations to help achieve QatarEnergy Corporate objectives for Qatarization.
He/she is responsible to ensure availability of services contracts maintains and monitors KPI compliance data leads audits
and explores new technologies to enhance operational performance and maintains DRM procedures in compliance with
industry standards.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 15 years experienced in various well servicing activities such as slickline/wireline coiled tubing well
integrity stimulation & well completion.
Education
Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent supplemented with industry courses in related software
applications.
