Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Ajman, United Arab Emirates

Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to take the lead in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects and the overall financial health of our organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets.
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making.
- Project Accounting:
- Oversee project-specific accounting, tracking costs, revenues, and profit margins.
- Work with project teams to ensure accurate job costing.
- General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and accounting standards.
- Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations to management based on financial data.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (Masters or CPA preferred).
- Min 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of construction-specific accounting and project management software is an advantage.
