QC Inspector – Structural (CSWIP)
Job Summary
- Inspect structural steel fabrication assembly welding and erection as per approved drawings specifications and ITPs.
- Perform visual inspection of welds including fit-up joint preparation alignment preheating welding and final weld quality.
- Review WPS PQR WPQ/WQT weld maps material certificates and fabrication records.
- Inspect structural components including beams columns platforms ladders handrails gratings supports and frames.
- Verify material identification traceability dimensions and compliance with project specifications.
- Witness and coordinate NDT activities including UT MT PT and RT as required.
- Inspect bolted connections high-strength bolts torqueing anchor bolts and structural connections.
- Monitor dimensional inspection surface preparation painting and coating activities where applicable.
- Raise and follow up RFIs NCRs observations and punch-list items.
- Coordinate with client third-party inspectors subcontractors and construction teams.
- Prepare inspection reports surveillance reports and quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 ASME ASTM API ISO and project/client requirements.
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Valid CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification.
- Minimum 5 years experience in structural steel fabrication welding and erection.
- Oil & Gas Offshore Shipyard or EPC project experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of structural drawings welding procedures NDT and quality documentation.
- NDT Level II / BGAS / NACE certification will be an added advantage.
