Job Summary

Job Summary: To provide post-award estimation and commercial support across ongoing projects ensuring that variations additional works and contractual changes are properly identified evaluated costed documented and submitted in a timely manner.

The role involves close coordination with the Projects Engineering Supply Chain and Finance Departments to protect the Companys commercial interests and support effective project cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

a.

Project Estimation & Variation Management:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for project variations change orders additional works and scope modifications.

Review contractual scope technical specifications drawings BOQs and other project documentation to establish the basis of estimation.

Perform quantity take-offs and evaluate material labour subcontracting equipment and other project-related costs.

Develop detailed cost breakdowns unit rates and supporting calculations for commercial submissions.

Identify deviations between the original contractual scope and revised project requirements.

Coordinate with Engineering Projects and Supply Chain to obtain the necessary technical inputs quotations and cost information.

Prepare revised estimates based on actual project conditions approved drawings and as-built quantities.

Maintain proper records of estimation assumptions exclusions and supporting documentation.

Contractual & Commercial Support:

Assist the Commercial Manager in reviewing contractual provisions relevant to variations additional costs claims and payment entitlements.

Prepare and maintain variation registers commercial trackers and change order documentation.

Support the preparation of contractual notices commercial letters claims and supporting justifications.

Evaluate the commercial impact of project changes delays disruptions and additional client requirements.

Assist in reviewing and substantiating subcontractor variation claims.

Follow up on outstanding commercial submissions and support negotiations with clients and subcontractors.

Monitor the status of submitted variations through approval and commercial closure.

c.

Cost Control & Project Support:

Coordinate with the Projects Department to identify potential cost exposure and additional scope at an early stage.

Review actual and forecast project costs against the approved budget.

Assist in preparing cost-to-complete assessments and project commercial reports.

Support the preparation of project extension-of-time and prolongation cost assessments where applicable.

Participate in internal project reviews and commercial coordination meetings.

Provide estimation and cost-related inputs for project close-out and final account reconciliation.

Documentation & Coordination:

Maintain organized records of all estimates supporting quotations cost calculations and commercial correspondence.

Ensure estimates and submissions are accurate traceable and consistent with contractual requirements.

Coordinate with internal departments to obtain timely information for commercial evaluation.

Prepare periodic reports covering outstanding variations submitted values approved amounts and pending commercial matters.

Support the Commercial Manager with other estimation and contractual activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering preferably Electrical Mechanical or a related discipline.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in project estimation variation management or post-award commercial engineering.

Experience in modular buildings E-Houses substations industrial construction EPC or Oil & Gas projects is preferred.

Demonstrated experience preparing detailed variation estimates cost breakdowns and commercial submissions.

Working knowledge of contractual change management claims and project cost control.

Familiarity with E&I and MEP systems material costing and installation activities is an advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant estimation tools.

Good technical report writing and commercial correspondence skills.
