Job Summary
Position: Mechanical Helper
Project: Power Plant Shutdown / Turnaround
Industry: Power Generation / Power Plant Maintenance
Location: Project Site
Job Responsibilities
- Assist mechanical technicians fitters and maintenance teams during power plant shutdown and turnaround activities.
- Assist in dismantling inspection cleaning repair and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
- Support maintenance work on pumps valves compressors turbines boilers heat exchangers piping and other mechanical equipment.
- Carry and arrange tools equipment spare parts and mechanical materials at the worksite.
- Assist fitters in removing and installing bolts nuts gaskets flanges valves and mechanical components.
- Assist with equipment isolation dismantling and reinstallation under the direction of qualified technicians.
- Help with cleaning of equipment work areas tools and components.
- Support alignment lubrication and basic mechanical maintenance activities as instructed.
- Assist in material handling and shifting equipment using appropriate manual handling techniques.
- Follow instructions from Mechanical Foreman Supervisor or Technician.
- Maintain good housekeeping at the work area throughout the shutdown.
- Follow all HSE PPE permit-to-work LOTO and site safety requirements.
- Work effectively under shutdown conditions including extended hours shifts and overtime when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Helper Mechanical Assistant Fitter Helper or Maintenance Helper is preferred.
- Experience in power plants industrial plants refineries petrochemical plants or heavy industrial projects is an advantage.
- Shutdown/turnaround experience is highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding industrial environments.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a mechanical maintenance team.
- Good safety awareness and willingness to follow site procedures.
