As a fiberglass technician, your job is to help laminate mold surfaces and assemble the parts for fiberglass products. This frequently includes helping create and repair boats, but aquatic vessels are not the only products that use fiberglass. You may also inspect work throughout the process, repair damaged fiberglass items, paint finished products, mix catalysts into resins, cut materials, maintain equipment, and explain the details of each job to customers. Fiberglass technicians usually work in groups, so teamwork skills are essential to your success in this field. This job also involves lifting and carrying heavy pieces of fiberglass, so physical strength and stamina are likewise vital.
