Job Summary
Key responsibilities
Product research and sourcing
- Research products relevant to tween teen and family customers across assigned categories.
- Review competitor websites customer feedback and product trends to identify potential additions to the assortment.
- Find local and international suppliers based on product briefs provided by the manager.
- Request catalogues quotations minimum order quantities lead times and payment terms.
- Explore personalisation packaging and exclusive product options when required.
- Prepare concise product shortlists for review.
Supplier comparisons and samples
- Maintain comparison sheets covering product costs order quantities delivery timelines and supplier terms.
- Calculate estimated landed costs and margins using the companys approved template.
- Arrange samples and track their arrival review and approval.
- Record feedback on product quality functionality packaging and suitability.
- Collect required product specifications and compliance documents flagging missing information for review.
Purchase orders and supplier follow-up
- Prepare purchase orders for approval and confirm approved details with suppliers.
- Follow up on production dispatch and delivery dates.
- Coordinate shipping documents and payment requests with operations and finance.
- Track outstanding orders and promptly report delays or discrepancies.
- Follow up with suppliers on damaged goods shortages or incorrect items.
Product listing and launch support
- Collect accurate product descriptions images dimensions materials barcodes and other required information.
- Prepare complete product information files for the e-commerce team.
- Coordinate samples for photography and content preparation.
- Check listing information against approved specifications and received products.
- Maintain a launch tracker showing product arrival content readiness and listing status
Key Requirements :- 13 years of experience in buying support sourcing merchandising procurement or ecommerce.
- An interest in products and trends relevant to tweens teens and families.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with prices costs margins and stock data.
- Clear written and spoken English for supplier communication.
- Organised accurate and consistent with follow-up.
- Able to compare options and explain why a product may suit the customer and business.
- Experience with consumer products online retail or international suppliers is an advantage.
