Job Purpose
The Pipeline Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating pipeline construction installation modification repair and maintenance activities for Oil & Gas projects. The role ensures that all pipeline works are executed safely efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings specifications project procedures ADNOC/client requirements and applicable international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day pipeline construction and installation activities at site including onshore and/or offshore pipeline works.
- Coordinate pipeline activities including right-of-way preparation stringing pipe handling fit-up welding NDT field joint coating lowering tie-ins hydrotesting dewatering drying reinstatement and pre-commissioning.
- Ensure all pipeline works are carried out in accordance with approved IFC drawings method statements ITPs specifications procedures and applicable codes and standards.
- Supervise carbon steel stainless steel CRA/clad and other pipeline systems as applicable to the project.
- Monitor pipeline welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS/PQR and welding procedures.
- Coordinate with Welding QA/QC and NDT teams for inspection testing repair and acceptance of pipeline welds.
- Supervise pipeline tie-in activities with existing facilities and ensure proper coordination for brownfield/SIMOPS activities.
- Ensure proper implementation of pipeline alignment elevation crossing bending and installation requirements.
- Coordinate with Civil Mechanical Structural E&I Construction Commissioning and HSE teams for interface activities.
- Review construction drawings and identify site constraints constructability issues clashes and technical discrepancies.
- Ensure availability of required manpower equipment tools lifting arrangements materials and work fronts.
- Monitor contractor/subcontractor productivity and progress against the approved construction schedule.
- Ensure pipeline materials are properly identified handled stored preserved and traceable.
- Supervise excavation trench preparation lowering-in backfilling road crossings and other associated pipeline civil works.
- Coordinate and supervise hydrostatic testing flushing cleaning gauging dewatering and drying activities.
- Ensure punch-list items are identified recorded cleared and properly closed before mechanical completion/handover.
- Support mechanical completion pre-commissioning commissioning and final handover activities.
- Maintain daily records of manpower equipment quantities installed welding progress testing status and site constraints.
- Participate in daily/weekly construction and progress meetings and highlight critical issues affecting safety quality schedule or productivity.
- Ensure strict compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) JSA/JHA toolbox talks lifting plans confined-space requirements excavation procedures and other HSE requirements.
- Ensure all activities comply with ADNOC/client HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture at site.
- Coordinate with Operations for work within live facilities including isolation shutdown and SIMOPS requirements.
- Review and verify contractor work completion and provide input for progress measurement where required.
- Report construction issues delays resource shortages and technical concerns to the Construction Superintendent/Construction Manager.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institute with a minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in GCC
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Pipeline Supervisor or equivalent supervisory position.
- Previous experience in ADNOC or similar GCC Oil & Gas projects is highly required.
- Strong experience in onshore/offshore pipelines flowlines trunk lines and associated piping systems as applicable.
- Experience in both Greenfield and Brownfield projects is preferred.
- Good knowledge of pipeline construction sequences welding NDT coating hydrotesting and pre-commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes such as ASME B31.4 ASME B31.8 API ASTM and applicable ADNOC specifications.
- Experience working in live Oil & Gas facilities and managing SIMOPS/brownfield interfaces is an advantage.

- Strong pipeline construction and field supervision knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret pipeline alignment sheets plot plans P&IDs isometrics general arrangement drawings and construction drawings.
- Good understanding of welding NDT coating and pipeline testing requirements.
- Strong HSE awareness and knowledge of PTW systems.
- Ability to supervise multidisciplinary and subcontractor teams.
- Good planning coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under demanding site conditions and project schedules.
- Good communication and reporting skills in English.
