Job Description

To supervise a pastry section and report to the Executive Pastry Chef. This role is responsible to take care of the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities. Creative and driven with an ability to maintain a high level of quality and consistent dessert and pastry items for all areas.


Responsibilities


  • Assisting Executive Pastry Chef in planning and directing pastry preparation when necessary.
  • Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet the standard and the quality.
  • Follows the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks.
  • Coordinates daily tasks with the team and reports to Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Estimates daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicates production needs to kitchen personnel daily
  • Assists Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation
  • Responsible to supervise junior chefs.
  • Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
  • Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food cost on an ongoing basis.
  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving storage and sanitation.


Requirements

  • With Culinary degree or certification
  • With 1-2 years of previous relevant experience in the same role
  • Has a proven track of food preparation and basic kitchen maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
