1. Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating demand and securing profitable sales of materials and services across the company’s line card and service portfolio within assigned territories.
The role focuses on building and maintaining strong customer relationships through structured market visits and strategic engagement ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded in terms of value service level compliance and long-term commercial sustainability.
2. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Sales & Business Development
Proactively solicit demand for the company’s materials and services from current and prospective customers.
Identify qualify and develop new leads to build a sustainable sales pipeline.
Submit timely accurate and compelling quotations aligned with agreed revenue margin and risk objectives.
Conclude sales in accordance with commercial policies including target margins payment terms and delivery conditions.
Achieve assigned revenue and margin targets for allocated accounts.
Develop strategies to grow and diversify the customer base within assigned territories.
Quotation & Proposal Management
Secure supporting quotations for:
Non-catalogue materials and services directly from suppliers or in coordination with Customer Service Specialists or Shared Service Centre.
Catalogue materials and services using the company’s inventory management system.
Engage the Regional Strategic Director and Operations Director for large-scale long-term supply/service agreements.
Support the preparation of proposals contracts and term agreements when required.
Ensure internal stakeholder alignment (Finance Operations Shared Services) to guarantee deliverability of commercial and technical offers.
Manage RFQ to Sales Quote turnaround time (TAT) in line with performance targets.
Customer Relationship Management
Manage day-to-day relationships for both ad-hoc and contract customers.
Conduct structured and regular customer visits within assigned territories.
Maintain accountability for customer satisfaction and successful order fulfillment.
Collaborate in resolving commercial technical and operational disputes.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction measured through surveys and feedback.
Internal Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with the Regional Sales Director and Operations Director to document and qualify leads and opportunities.
Coordinate with Shared Service Centre resources to ensure timely quotation and order processing.
Support Finance in expediting outstanding customer payments and resolving billing issues.
Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and company procedures.

5. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Engineering or related field.
5–8 years of experience in business development technical sales or industrial/material supply sectors.
Strong commercial acumen with proven track record of meeting revenue and margin targets.
Excellent negotiation communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization.
Willingness to travel within assigned territories.
