The Design Manager will report to the Project Director internally and the client representative at a project level.
The Design Manager will act as the key day to day client interface ensuring that client objectives are met from a design management perspective.
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and who wants to make a difference to the Design Management division.
Candidates with relevant educational experience are required for this role.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the main client interface on design matters ensuring alignment with client goals and expectations.
- Represent Egis professionally in all interactions with consultants contractors and government authorities.
Design Coordination & Oversight
- Monitor preparation of technical specifications and provide comments as required.
- Chair Design and Design Coordination Meetings prepare minutes issue action registers and ensure timely followup by the design team.
- Oversee the design teams adherence to Safety in Design principles including timely preparation of Design Risk Assessments.
Technical Reviews & Compliance
- Coordinate with designers and supervision consultants on mock-up requirements and quality standards.
- Support the client and designers in material selection including participating in overseas visits if needed.
- Review and provide initial responses to contractor notices seeking clarification or additional information.
- Coordinate with design teams and supervision consultants to challenge and refine responses before preparing draft determinations for the employer.
Performance & Quality Management
- Monitor the performance of the supervision consultant and design guardians to ensure quality and timely review of contractor submittals.
- Track mitigate and report on design risks including status and progress of Authority Approvals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in design management on major infrastructure or building projects.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design processes and construction methodology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive coordination across teams.
- Highly organized proactive and able to work independently.
