We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher Commis III to join our culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a Butcher Commis III you will support the butchery operations by assisting in the preparation cutting and portioning of meat poultry and seafood ensuring the highest standards of quality hygiene and consistency across all kitchen outlets.
Assist in the preparation cutting trimming deboning and portioning of meat poultry and seafood according to established recipes and quality standards
Work efficiently within the butchery section as assigned by the Executive Chef Sous Chef or Chef de Partie
Maintain a clean organized and hygienic work area in compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations
Properly portion label store and rotate products following FIFO procedures to minimize waste and ensure food safety
Collaborate with kitchen and stewarding teams to support smooth and timely kitchen operations
Assist during service periods to ensure consistent supply and quality of butchery items
Support inventory control by participating in stock rotation requisitions and physical counts as required
Follow all health safety and hygiene standards set by the hotel and local authorities
Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen environment through teamwork communication and reliability
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning
