Role Summary

The Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine provides expert timely and evidencebased care to infants children and adolescents presenting with acute medical surgical and trauma emergencies. The role requires leadership in clinical decisionmaking resuscitation and multidisciplinary coordination within a highacuity emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

Lead assessment stabilisation and management of critically ill and injured paediatric patients
Oversee paediatric resuscitation trauma care and emergency procedures in line with international guidelines
Provide senior clinical decisionmaking and support for complex cases
Collaborate with paediatric subspecialties ICU anaesthesia radiology and nursing teams
Ensure highquality documentation adherence to clinical pathways and patientsafety standards
Participate in departmental audits quality improvement and clinical governance activities
Teach mentor and supervise junior doctors residents and nursing staff
Engage in familycentred communication during highstress situations

Qualifications & Experience

Board certification in Paediatrics with fellowship/subspecialty training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine
Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensing
Extensive experience in tertiarylevel paediatric emergency departments
Advanced skills in paediatric airway management trauma care and critical resuscitation
