Junior Research Scientist in the Center for Smart Engineering Materials Dr. Safiya Khalil

The Khalil laboratory in the Center for Smart Engineering Materials New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work on the design and deployment of porous materials for water remediation applications.

The successful applicant will work on the development and application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water remediation. The successful candidate will join a young yet highly energetic team dedicated to leveraging chemistry reaction engineering and manufacturing principles to address pressing challenges in the water sector. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and undergraduate students. The appointed research assistant will conduct independent research on COF materials focusing on their synthesis characterization and practical application. Key responsibilities include designing frameworks experiments and publishing high-quality research. The position provides a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility and engage with a collaborative and diverse research community at NYUAD.

Applicants must have a BSc in Chemistry Materials Science Chemical Engineering or a related field. Excellent experimental and characterization skills relevant to the project are required.
