The Waiter will provide professional discreet front-of-house service within a private property. The role involves greeting and serving residents and guests presenting food and beverages to a high standard setting and clearing dining areas and supporting household events and functions. The post requires a reliable courteous individual who can work flexibly follow direction and maintain confidentiality in a private household environment.
Guest Service: Greet residents and guests promptly and courteously take orders explain menus and provide attentive personalised service throughout meals and events.
Food & Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to the required standard clear and reset tables efficiently assist with plating and presentation as directed by the chef or head of service.
Table Preparation: Prepare and set dining tables according to service standards including laying cutlery glassware and linen; ensure table settings are immaculate and appropriately presented.
Event Support: Assist with the planning and execution of private functions and events support service flow liaise with kitchen and housekeeping teams and help with setup and clear-down duties.
Beverage Service: Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks present and decant wines where required and follow guidance on beverage pairings and service etiquette.
Hygiene & Compliance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in dining and service areas follow food safety and hygiene procedures and ensure compliance with household health and safety policies.
Stock & Equipment: Assist with inventory checks for service items report low stock or equipment faults and ensure all serviceware is cared for and stored correctly.
Teamwork & Discretion: Work collaboratively with chefs housekeeping and other household staff support colleagues during busy periods and maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Previous experience in front-of-house waiting or hospitality roles within private households hotels or fine-dining environments preferred.
Good knowledge of table service techniques silver service or informal service standards; wine service experience is advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a polite professional manner.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high presentation and service standards under pressure.
Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene; relevant certification is an advantage.
Fluent in English.
Flexible approach to working hours including early mornings evenings weekends and bank holidays as required.
At least 1 year of experience in a waiting or service role is desirable demonstrating practical service skills and experience supporting senior front-of-house staff.
Experience working in a private household or with high-net-worth clients is advantageous but not essential.
