Job Summary
A British curriculum school in Dubai is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Head of Department (Science) to join its Academic Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional subject knowledge strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record of improving teaching and learning outcomes. A minimum of three years experience in an academic leadership role within a British Curriculum school in the UAE is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with teachers to enhance subject knowledge pedagogy and instructional practices to improve student outcomes
- Lead and contribute effectively to departmental and whole-school planning
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support and raise academic standards
- Ensure teaching practices align with the UAE framework for teaching and learning maintaining a minimum standard of good in all lessons
- Monitor evaluate and support teaching quality within the department
- Undertake other duties related to departmental leadership as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master of Science (Chemistry or Physics)
- Bachelor of Education (.) is an advantage (Distance learning or open university degrees will not be considered)
- Strong command of the English language (spoken and written)
- Must be currently available in the UAE
