MEP DESIGN COORDINATOR

We are recruiting on behalf of a prominentMain Contractorin the UAE construction market seeking a high-calibreMEP Design Coordinator. This senior technical role is crucial for governing the MEP technical delivery across major projects ensuring compliance quality and coordination from design through to handover.

This position requires a technical specialist who can bridge the gap between design consultants statutory authorities and site execution teams.

Key Role Purpose: Mastering MEP Technical Compliance and Coordination

TheMEP Design Coordinatorwill spearhead the projects MEP technical efforts. Your primary mission is to manageMEP Design Reviews drive seamlessMulti-Discipline Coordination facilitateAuthority/Consultant Approvals and implement stringentDocumentation Quality Control.

You will ensure that all Mechanical Plumbing Fire Protection Electrical and ELV designs shop drawings and submittals adhere strictly toUAE Codes relevantAuthority Requirements and project standards directly supporting critical cost and schedule objectives.

Core Responsibilities

• Design Review & Compliance (MEP):Conduct rigorous verification of all MEP disciplines against applicable codes and Employer Requirements. Drive the resolution of non-conformities swiftly.
• Authority & Stakeholder Liaison:Strategically liaise withAuthorities (e.g. Civil Defense DEWA/ADDC) Clients and Consultants to secure timely approvals NOCs and permits.
• Interdisciplinary Coordination:Lead the crucial coordination efforts betweenMEP Architectural and Structuraltrades to proactively identify and resolve clashes and interface issues often leveragingBIM methodologies.
• Value Engineering:Identify develop and proposeMEP cost/time optimizationopportunities that maintain performance and compliance standards.
• Site Technical Support:Provide essential technical guidance to site teams review and approve MEP shop drawings and sign off on Method Statements/ITPs.
• Submittals & Approvals Management:Govern the process for all design shop drawing and material submittals ensuring accuracy completeness and adherence to the project schedule.

Mandatory Qualifications (Strictly Required)

Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered:

• Education:Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) inMechanical OR Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Experience:A minimum of1012 yearstotal experience in theUAE gained specifically with aConstruction/Main Contractorin an MEP design coordination or technical management capacity.
• Expertise:Comprehensive and current knowledge ofUAE Authority processesandcodes/standardsgoverning all major MEP systems (HVAC Drainage Fire Protection Electrical ELV).

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proven ability inAuthority Interface Managementand approvals strategy (e.g. DM/Civil Defense Utility Providers).
• Strong technical comprehension across all MEP systems including the ability to challenge designs and calculations.
• Exceptionalquality mindsetwith meticulous attention to documentation discipline.
• Demonstrated proficiency in leading coordination meetings risk identification and problem-solving in a live construction environment.
