Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I to join our culinary team. As a Commis I you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies ensuring adequate inventory for daily operations
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely food preparation
- Support senior chefs in menu planning and food presentation
- Participate in daily kitchen briefings and team meetings
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries ensuring proper rotation of ingredients
- Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items as directed
- Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing peeling and chopping ingredients
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs
Qualifications :
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Basic computer skills for using kitchen management systems
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
