Why This Role Matters
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the availability reliability and lifecycle performance of assets at the Sewage Treatment Plant. The role focuses on applying reliability engineering tools data analysis and structured problem-solving techniques to reduce unplanned downtime optimize maintenance strategies and enhance operational efficiency.
What Youll Drive
Reliability & Asset Performance
- Develop implement and continuously improve reliability strategies for critical STP assets (pumps blowers aeration systems clarifiers digesters sludge handling equipment electrical and instrumentation systems).
- Monitor asset performance and reliability KPIs such as MTBF MTTR availability and failure trends.
- Identify bad actors and chronic equipment failures and define improvement plans.
Reliability Analysis & Engineering
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and risk mitigation actions.
- Apply Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Lead and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major failures repeated breakdowns and process upsets.
- Recommend design improvements operational changes and maintenance enhancements to improve asset reliability.
Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Analyze historical maintenance and operational data from CMMS/EAM systems.
- Interpret trends and patterns to support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and reports to communicate reliability performance to management and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.
- Support predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis thermography megger test oil analysis condition monitoring).
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve recurring issues.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Operation and Maintenance team.
- Support maintenance planning and scheduling by defining task frequencies and job plans based on reliability studies.
- Participate in commissioning modification and upgrade projects to ensure reliability considerations are embedded from design stage.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure reliability activities comply with environmental regulations safety standards and plant operating requirements.
- Support risk assessments and contribute to safe and reliable plant operation
