Job Summary

Job Title: Homeroom Teacher For Preschool And Primary

Position Overview:

As a homeroom teacher at the Spanish school of Abu Dhabi you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment for preschool and primary students. You will play a crucial role in fostering their academic social and emotional development within our multicultural setting. We seek educators who can implement a studentcentered learning approach maintain high academic standards and utilize creative teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inclusive classroom environment: create a welcoming classroom that promotes a sense of belonging for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  2. Curriculum development: develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the Spanish curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and language proficiency.
  3. Interactive teaching: Foster a love for learning by incorporating creative and active teaching methodologies to make lessons interactive handson and enjoyable.
  4. Clear learning objectives: establish and communicate clear learning objectives to students ensuring they understand academic and behavioral expectations.
  5. Individualized support: provide individualized attention and support to students adapting teaching strategies to accommodate their unique strengths weaknesses and learning styles.
  6. Technology integration: utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance the learning experience and promote digital literacy among students.
  7. Student assessment: assess and evaluate student progress regularly through various formative and summative assessment methods providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  8. Collaborative projects: collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate different subjects and promote critical thinking creativity and problemsolving skills.
  9. Community involvement: encourage student participation in community service initiatives cultural events and extracurricular activities to foster social responsibility and global awareness.
  10. Parental communication: maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians providing regular updates on their childs academic progress and addressing any concerns.
  11. Classroom management: establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting positive discipline practices.
  12. Professional development: stay updated with educational research best practices and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

  • Cultural sensitivity: promote cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity encouraging crosscultural understanding and celebrating diversity within the classroom and school community.

  • Parental engagement: engage parents/guardians actively in their childs education through regular communication parentteacher conferences and involvement in school activities.
  • Professional growth: participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to stay current with educational best practices.

Working hours:

  • Monday to friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Early bird program and afternoon dismissal will be on a rotating schedule.
  • School holidays follow the calendar approved by ADEK


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Primary or Preschool Education with a specialization in the required field if appropriate issued by a Spanish University or recognized by the Ministry of Education in Spain.
  • Teaching certification/license or equivalent qualifications recognized by the relevant educational authorities.
  • Proven experience teaching preschool and/or primary students preferably in a multicultural or international setting.
  • Native speaker of Spanish. Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish curriculum and familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and active learning strategies.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students parents/guardians and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility adaptability and a willingness to embrace the multicultural setting of the school.
  • Passion for teaching a creative approach to education and a commitment to promoting students holistic development.
