Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Underwriter in the insurance industry. The Assistant Underwriter plays a pivotal role in the evaluation and analysis of insurance applications to ensure that they meet the companys underwriting criteria and standards. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of underwriting processes and the ability to analyze risk factors associated with various insurance policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and verify insurance applications and related documents for completeness and accuracy.
Gather and analyze relevant data to support risk assessment and decision-making.
Assist underwriters in preparing quotes endorsements and policy renewals.
Maintain organized records of underwriting files and correspondence.
Communicate effectively with brokers clients and internal departments to clarify information and resolve issues.
Support compliance with regulatory requirements and company underwriting guidelines.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the underwriting process.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Business Finance Insurance or a related field preferred.
Prior experience or internship in insurance underwriting or a related area is an advantage.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with insurance terminology and basic underwriting principles is a plus.
