Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Underwriter in the insurance industry. The Assistant Underwriter plays a pivotal role in the evaluation and analysis of insurance applications to ensure that they meet the companys underwriting criteria and standards. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of underwriting processes and the ability to analyze risk factors associated with various insurance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify insurance applications and related documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Gather and analyze relevant data to support risk assessment and decision-making.
- Assist underwriters in preparing quotes endorsements and policy renewals.
- Maintain organized records of underwriting files and correspondence.
- Communicate effectively with brokers clients and internal departments to clarify information and resolve issues.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and company underwriting guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the underwriting process.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Finance Insurance or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience or internship in insurance underwriting or a related area is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with insurance terminology and basic underwriting principles is a plus.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.
