Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor specializing in pre-contract work for infrastructure projects to join our team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost estimations and efficient project planning for large-scale infrastructure developments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects including roads bridges and utilities
- Develop and analyze bills of quantities for tender documentation
- Review and evaluate tender submissions from contractors
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents and procurement strategies
- Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve favorable terms
- Undertake quantity measurement for inclusion in cost plans estimates and bills of quantities.
- Prepare comprehensive tender documentation in line with project requirements.
- Conduct viability studies and develop detailed cost estimates.
- Implement maintain and monitor cost control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide input and support in the preparation and assessment of financial claims.
- Evaluate variations additions and omissions and incorporate findings into monthly cost reports.
- Prepare process and negotiate change orders with clients and contractors to ensure timely and accurate execution of projects.
- Conduct market testing and analyse tender returns to support rate benchmarking and update the cost database.
- Proficiency in cost estimation tendering and contract administration.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional certification from a recognized quantity surveying body is advantageous (e.g. RICS)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pre-contract quantity surveying with a focus on infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in cost estimation software / Cost X
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- In-depth knowledge of infrastructure project costing and budgeting
- Experience in preparing tender documents and contract administration
- Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes
- Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in the UAE
- Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
