Job Summary

Job Summary:
The Microbiologist will be responsible for conducting microbiological analyses performing experiments and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards. The role involves studying microorganisms such as bacteria viruses fungi and parasites to understand their characteristics and impact on human health industry and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct microbiological experiments and research projects.

  • Perform microbial testing on samples products or raw materials according to SOPs and regulatory standards.

  • Analyze test results and prepare technical reports and documentation.

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment ensuring all instruments are in good working condition.

  • Ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures and biohazard protocols.

  • Develop and validate new test methods as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities and results.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance Production or R&D.

  • Keep up to date with developments in microbiology and related fields.

  • Train junior staff or laboratory technicians when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Microbiology Biology or a related field (Ph.D. preferred for research roles).

  • Proven experience working in a microbiology laboratory.

  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques including aseptic techniques culturing staining and microscopy.

  • Familiarity with microbiological testing methods and relevant regulatory standards (e.g. ISO GMP).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and high standards of laboratory practice.
