Summary
As Kitchen Technician at Banyan Tree Dubai you will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen and back-of-house equipment operates efficiently and safely. You will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance troubleshoot technical issues and support the culinary team in delivering seamless kitchen operations that align with the brands commitment to excellence and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections preventive maintenance and repairs for all kitchen and laundry equipment including ovens chillers fryers dishwashers exhaust systems and other related assets.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities spare parts and service schedules using the propertys maintenance management system.
Ensure all equipment complies with local health safety and environmental standards.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for equipment calibration servicing and warranty claims.
Support in the installation testing and commissioning of new kitchen equipment particularly during pre-opening and renovation phases.
Monitor energy and water usage of kitchen systems supporting the propertys sustainability initiatives.
Adhere strictly to Banyan Tree Dubais safety policies and ensure that all maintenance work areas remain clean safe and organized.
Assist the Engineering team in other technical operations as required.
Qualifications :
Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Electrical or Refrigeration Engineering.
Minimum 23 years of experience in a similar role ideally within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
In-depth knowledge of kitchen equipment maintenance troubleshooting and preventive care.
Familiar with HACCP standards and kitchen hygiene protocols.
Basic computer literacy for using maintenance systems (e.g. CMMS/BMS).
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals technical drawings and schematics.
Good communication and teamwork skills; able to coordinate effectively with culinary and engineering teams.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Proactive dependable and able to work under minimal supervision.
Flexible and willing to work varied shifts weekends and public holidays as required.
