Job Description
ELECTRICAL DESIGNER(offshore oil & gas)
Job Purpose
Preparation of electrical engineering drawings to the required industry addition the successful candidate will be required to undertake other functions related to preparation of Bill of Materials document control document archiving and maintenance of document register for engineering projects
Responsibilities
Delivery of electrical drawings as per project requirements mainly Single Line Diagrams (SLD) Termination Drawings and General Arrangement Drawings (GA).
Ensure timely completion of all allocated projects.
Preparation and updating Cable Lists throughout project
Preparation of Red-Line markups after installations
Create concept Single Line Diagrams for new scopes to be clarified with clients
Preparation of Bill of Material lists (BOMs) for tender evaluations and checking to ensure scope is in accordance with drawings produced and vice versa.
Ensure all relevant standards are followed
Assist in updating databases standards and drawing tools.
Review rough sketches drawings and other data to ensure that they comply with design concepts.
Receive and register documents
Control the issuance of document numbers including maintenance of proper document registers
Ensure proper document classification sorting filing and proper archiving
Review completeness of documentation and prepare document transmittals
Willingness to learn PLC ladder logic programming Siemens Allen Bradley Schneider etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor or Master of Electrical Engineer
Minimum of 3 or 5 years of experience as an electrical designer
AutoCAD 2D
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Understanding of Engineering and common / best practices.
Understanding of IEC standards
Understanding of hazardous areas on Drilling Rigs

Self-Motivation - Ability and confidence to work with minimal supervision.
Collaboration Works efficiently and inclusively with a range of people both within and outside of the organization.
Good command of written & spoken English and ability to prepare reports and statistics
Good IT skills mastering MS Office and other software related to document control (M-Files is an advantage)
