Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Lead Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization you will play a crucial role in managing costs for construction projects ensuring financial efficiency and contractual compliance.
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates for construction projects including materials labor and equipment
- Conduct on-site measurements and quantity take-offs to verify project progress and costs
- Manage change control processes including additional works notifications and purchase orders
- Assist in the preparation and submission of subcontractor payment certificates
- Collaborate with the finance team on internal and external forecasting and accruals
- Maintain a database of accredited subcontractors and oversee the procurement strategy
- Manage green claim income liaising with legal representatives and loss adjusters when necessary
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies related to commercial processes
- Prepare detailed reports on project costs variances and financial performance
- Support the Commercial Manager in achieving commercially driven objectives and monitoring key performance indicators
- Promote continuous improvement within the organization and implement effective corrective and preventive measures
- Advise colleagues from other departments on commercial issues relevant to their work
- Evaluate and control key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure project efficiency
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Commercial Management or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar capacity
- Minimum of HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent
- MRICS MCInstCES status or equivalent is highly desirable
- Proven experience in quantity surveying preferably in Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of main forms of contract sub-contracts and procurement options
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and quantity surveying software (Planswift/CostX CCS Buildsoft etcs)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Experience in implementing commercial management functions processes and procedures
- Familiarity with risk management processes and bidding procedures
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Dubai and the UAE
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
