We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in civil and infrastructure projects to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of our projects by accurately estimating and managing costs while also maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor preferably in the civil and infrastructure sector
- Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and equipment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in cost estimation and budget management software
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Professional certification (e.g. MRICS) is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil and infrastructure projects including materials labor and equipment costs
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Monitor and control project costs throughout all stages of the project
- Prepare and review project budgets and progress reports
- Collaborate with project managers engineers and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within budget
- Review and negotiate contracts and change orders with clients and subcontractors
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify any potential cost or schedule issues
- Ensure compliance with industry standards building codes and regulations
- Keep accurate records of all project costs and maintain a database of cost information for future use
- Mentor and train junior quantity surveyors as needed
