Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chargehand - Marine to join our team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a Chargehand you will play a crucial role in overseeing marine operations ensuring safety and leading a team of marine professionals.
- Supervise and coordinate daily marine operations and activities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and safety protocols
- Manage and maintain marine equipment vessels and facilities
- Lead and mentor a team of marine professionals fostering a culture of safety and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize marine operations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement necessary improvements
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports
- Participate in emergency response planning and execution when required
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine operations with a proven track record in a leadership role
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional marine-related education is a plus
- Valid STCW certification and other relevant marine certifications
- Extensive knowledge of marine equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proven ability to make decisive decisions in high-pressure situations
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using marine-related software and technology
- Physical ability to perform tasks in a marine environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays as required
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
