Job Description
Job Title: Splicing Technician (Fiber Optic)
Location: UAE
Compensation: AED 2500-4000 (per month)
License: Valid UAE Driving License required
Job Purpose:
The Splicing Technician will be responsible for performing fiber optic splicing testing troubleshooting and maintenance activities on live networks. The role requires expertise in ribbon splicing working with high-density fiber cables and ensuring minimal downtime while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform fiber optic splicing (single and ribbon splicing) on live networks with accuracy and efficiency.

Conduct OTDR power meter and light source testing to ensure network integrity.

Carry out troubleshooting and fault localization on optical networks.

Ensure proper handling installation and termination of fiber optic cables and enclosures.

Maintain documentation splicing records and test results for all work performed.

Work closely with project teams to meet timelines and customer requirements.

Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards while working on live networks.

Drive to different project sites; a valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in fiber optic splicing (live network & ribbon splicing).

Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables connectors closures and patch panels.

Proficiency in using splicing machines (e.g. Fujikura Sumitomo) and testing equipment.

Familiarity with UAE telecom standards and regulations.

Ability to work independently and under pressure in field environments.

Valid UAE Driving License is a must.
