The Steward plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness hygiene and efficiency in the kitchen supporting the wellness-focused environment of The Dose by Silvena. This position ensures hygiene and sanitation protocols are strictly followed contributing to seamless kitchen operations and an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
and Hygiene:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen areas equipment and utensils according to HACCP standards.
- To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all cleaning procedures use of dishwashing machines
- Wash and sanitise dishes glassware and cooking utensils promptly.
- Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal including selecting appropriate chemicals for cleaning and adhering to sustainability policies such as recycling and composting.
2. Support for Kitchen Operations:
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring the availability of clean tools and equipment.
- Organise and store utensils dishes and cookware in designated areas.
- Ensure kitchen floors walls and surfaces are clean and free from debris and hazards.
3. Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor cleaning supplies and restock as necessary informing the supervisor of any shortages.
- Safeguard all dishware utensils and equipment from breakage or damage.
4. Compliance with Wellness Standards:
- Adhere to The Doses wellness principles by using eco-friendly cleaning agents and processes.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with food safety hygiene and wellness-oriented regulations.
5. Event and Service Support:
- Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas for events and wellness programs.
- Transport food and equipment safely between service areas when required.
6. Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth kitchen and service operations.
- Provide support for any additional tasks requested by the culinary or service teams.

- Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Promptly report any maintenance or safety issues in the kitchen or storage areas.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a stewarding role preferably in a wellness hospitality setting or high-end hotel/resort.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP certification is a plus).
- Physically fit and capable of handling a hands-on active role.
- Basic understanding of eco-friendly cleaning practices and sustainable operations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
