Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Fixer to join our dynamic construction team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a Steel Fixer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of our construction projects by accurately placing and securing steel reinforcements.
- Read and interpret building plans engineering drawings and specifications to determine steel reinforcement requirements
- Set out work areas and calculate material needs for each project
- Cut bend and shape steel bars and mesh using hand and power tools
- Position and secure steel bars mesh and other reinforcement materials in concrete forms
- Tie and weld reinforcing bars to create sturdy frameworks for concrete structures
- Install spacers and supports to maintain proper positioning of reinforcements
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure proper integration of steel reinforcements with other building components
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Qualifications :
- High School diploma ITI certification or relevant Technical Diploma in construction
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Steel Fixer
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting building plans and technical drawings
- Expertise in using hand and power tools for cutting bending and shaping steel
- Indepth knowledge of various types of steel reinforcements and their applications
- Welding skills and familiarity with different welding techniques
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and practices
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials
- Comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions typical of Dubai
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Familiarity with local building codes and standards in Dubai
- Valid work permit for Dubai United Arab Emirates
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
