About Joint Space

Joint Space Polyclinic LLC is a multidisciplinary medical clinic, movement space and educational hub based in Alserkal Avenue, Dubai, UAE.

Each patient has their own individual biological landscape, and as such, the philosophy of Joint Space requires each practitioner to approach their patient as a unique individual requiring an in-depth understanding from many perspectives. The environment of Joint Space has been shaped in such a way to provide patients the opportunity to understand their bodies and to learn how to develop longevity in their health through supporting clinical modalities, movement practices and education.

The core practices and focus of Joint Space are physical therapies such as Osteopathic medicine, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic medicine, practices such as Naturopathic medicine, Functional medicine and Regenerative medicine, movement, wellness and sports performance practices, and education for patients and healthcare professionals.

Joint Space is looking to grow a team of medical professionals who understand the integrative nature of medicine, movement and education, and how they are all linked in order to achieve longevity and sustainable health for our patients. Currently, Joint Space is looking for experienced Osteopaths who share this understanding, have the appetite to work alongside other healthcare professionals who share the same motivation, and to guide patients along the path to longevity and sustainable health

Job purpose

Osteopaths evaluate, assess, diagnose, treat, and aim to prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal, visceral, cranial and nervous system. This is achieved through the respective use of the technical and philosophical approaches of Osteopathic medicine. The aim of practitioners is to relieve pain, improve range and quality of motion, improve general health and to provide education in order for patients to achieve improved health and well being.

Take an ethical and holistic evidence-based approach tailored to the needs of the patients, considering the biopsychosocial influences of each patient, simultaneously recognising the value of integration and collaboration with other healthcare professionals in a patient-centric model.

As leaders of the healthcare community, Osteopaths must provide education to support this same community. This requires outreach and community workshops in order to promote patient education on all topics related to the Osteopathic philosophies for health and wellbeing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As Doctors of Osteopathy, you will be required to:

  • Take a full and detailed medical case history as related to the presenting complaint(s) and medical history as a whole.
  • Ensure pain scale recordings, blood pressure and pulse are taken at each treatment session.
  • Provide a thorough medical exam, assessment and diagnoses as per the presenting complaint and any other element of the medical history that you may require pertinent to the presenting complaint.
  • Use appropriate Osteopathic techniques and any other associated training as per your DHA recognised qualifications in the treatment of your patient(s).
  • Understand the philosophy of Joint Space Physiotherapy Clinic LLC, providing a holistic treatment plan encouraging patient self-sufficiency, utilising all various offerings that the clinic provides to its patient’s and patrons.
  • Educate the patient on their condition, causation, treatment plan and further appropriate preventative measures.
  • Recognise when the patient is no longer within the scope of Osteopathic treatment. Whether this is due to any presenting cautions or contraindications to Osteopathic treatment requiring referral to another medical practitioner, or the patient requires a different treatment modality to which your qualifications cannot provide.
  • Ensure every patient has a patient file on the electronic software system (EMS), including all details pertinent to the patient’s medical history, fulfilling DHA requirements, being accessible, understandable and transferable to all medical staff.
  • Interpret any and all diagnostic imaging as appropriate.

Working Conditions

  • 5 shifts a week, morning/afternoon shifts.
  • 6 hours 30 minute per shift, totalling 32 hours and 30 minutes working week
  • Option for further shifts on request
  • One unpaid work hour for lunch during the course of a normal working day.
  • Whilst these are the basic hours of work, in practice you may be required to work outside these normal hours from time to time if mutually agreed.

Physical Requirements

All practitioners must be physically fit.

Requirements

Specific degree qualifications required:

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Osteopathic Medicine degree recognised by DHA

Continual Professional Development:

Doctors of Osteopaths must undertake continuing professional development in various forms as per DHA requirements and as per the requirements of the practitioners professional home governing body.

Continued association with the home governing body of the practitioner must be maintained at all times as per requirements of DHA.

  • Ability to work fast, accurately and make quick decisions when required for the benefit of the patient.
