Auto Mechanics

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Auto Mechanic to join our team at Company Name. The ideal candidate will be experienced in diagnosing repairing and maintaining various vehicle systems to ensure safe and optimal performance of vehicles.

Role Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to maintain and repair vehicles including diagnosing mechanical issues performing preventive maintenance and ensuring all systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Diagnostics:

• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess and identify mechanical issues in vehicles including engine transmission suspension brakes and electrical systems.
  
• Interpret fault codes and perform system analysis to identify the root causes of vehicle malfunctions.
  

Maintenance Services:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes fluid checks brake inspections tire rotations and filter replacements.
  
• Inspect and maintain vehicle systems including engine suspension brakes transmission exhaust and electrical systems.
  
• Replace components such as spark plugs batteries and timing belts.
  

Repairs & Replacements:

• Perform repairs on faulty parts including but not limited to engines transmissions exhaust systems suspension and brakes.
  
• Replace wornout parts such as spark plugs belts batteries alternators and filters.
  
• Overhaul or rebuild major mechanical systems when required including engines transmission systems and drivetrains.
  

Electrical & Electronic Systems:

• Diagnose and repair issues with electrical systems in vehicles including alternators batteries and electrical wiring.
  
• Identify and repair faults in vehicle computer and electronic control systems (e.g. ABS airbags traction control etc.).
  
• Install or upgrade electrical systems such as lighting or entertainment units as required.
  

Test & Inspection:

• Conduct test drives and postrepair inspections to verify the effectiveness of the repairs and ensure vehicle performance and safety standards are met.
  
• Inspect vehicle systems after repairs to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  

Customer Communication:

• Communicate with customers to explain vehicle issues and recommended repairs or services.
  
• Provide cost estimates for services and repairs and ensure customer satisfaction with completed work.
  

Tool & Equipment Maintenance:

• Maintain clean and organize tools and workshop equipment to ensure their proper functioning and safety.
  
• Report any defective tools or machinery to management for repair or replacement.
  

Documentation & Reporting:

• Accurately document all repairs maintenance and parts replaced in service records.
  
• Maintain a detailed log of work completed including time parts used and customer feedback.
  

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working with vehicles tools and machinery to ensure a safe work environment.
  
• Adhere to environmental and industry regulations for vehicle repair maintenance and waste disposal.
  

Experience:

• 25 years of experience as an automotive mechanic with a strong understanding of vehicle systems and mechanical repair techniques.
  
• Experience with a variety of makes and models is preferred.
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in automotive repair is preferred.
  
• Certifications:
  
  • ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) or similar industry certifications are highly preferred.
    
  • Any other relevant certifications in vehicle repair or mechanical services.
    

Skills:

• Indepth knowledge of automotive systems including engine mechanics transmission systems suspension brakes and electrical components.
  
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
  
• Strong problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  
• Ability to diagnose repair and maintain vehicles to meet safety and operational standards.
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to highquality work.
  
• Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
  
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) kneel bend and work in tight spaces.
  
• Comfortable working in varying environments including indoor and outdoor settings.
