Roles and responsibilities
- The applicant must have a PhD from an accredited university in the United Arab Emirates.
- The applicant must have at least (3) years of experience in teaching in an academic institution applying the credit hour system.
- The applicant should have published papers in journals within the global databases (Scopus).
- The applicant must be fluent in both Arabic and English (Arabic is a must).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study, considering and aiming to achieve the three (3)
- Fundamental standards of the University, those are: teaching, research and services
- Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student success.
- Research, organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and community networks.
- Actively seek out methods, procedures and resources to best achieve course objectives.
- Support and participate in accreditation initiatives.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

1. Expert Knowledge in Education
- Educational Theory: A deep understanding of various educational theories, pedagogical models, and frameworks that shape the practice of teaching and learning.
- Curriculum Development: Expertise in designing and developing curriculum and educational programs that meet academic standards and the needs of diverse learners.
- Instructional Methods: A strong grasp of various instructional strategies and approaches, such as differentiated instruction, inquiry-based learning, experiential learning, and technology-enhanced learning.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods used to measure student learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices.
2. Research Skills
- Research Design: Ability to design and conduct rigorous, original research in the field of education, including both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing educational data using appropriate statistical or qualitative analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo).
- Publication: A strong record of scholarly publication in peer-reviewed academic journals, books, or other academic outlets. Research should contribute to advancing the knowledge base in education.
- Grant Writing: Experience in securing research funding through competitive grants and proposals to support educational research projects.
3. Teaching and Instructional Expertise
- Course Design and Delivery: Experience in designing and teaching undergraduate, graduate, and/or doctoral-level courses in education. This includes developing syllabi, preparing lectures, and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Technology Integration: Incorporating educational technology into the classroom to enhance teaching and learning, including the use of learning management systems (LMS) and online resources.
- Active Learning Techniques: Implementing active learning strategies, such as group discussions, project-based learning, and hands-on experiences, to engage students in the learning process.
- Mentoring and Advising: Providing academic guidance and mentorship to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, helping them with academic and career development.
4. Leadership and Service
- Departmental Leadership: Taking on leadership roles within the department, such as serving as a course coordinator, program director, or chairing academic committees.
- Curriculum Review and Development: Leading or participating in the review and development of educational programs and curricula to ensure they remain relevant, rigorous, and responsive to the evolving needs of students and the profession.
- Academic and Institutional Service: Contributing to the academic community by serving on committees, participating in faculty governance, and representing the institution at conferences, professional organizations, or in the community.

- Collaborative Research: Engaging in collaborative research with colleagues within and outside of the institution, contributing to interdisciplinary research projects that explore new areas in education.

- Written Communication: Proficiency in writing scholarly articles, research papers, grant proposals, and teaching materials. This includes clarity, coherence, and academic rigor in written work.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Providing constructive feedback to students, guiding them through the learning process, and fostering critical thinking and reflective practice.
