Roles and responsibilities
- Bachelors/ Master’s Degree or equivalent degree from an accredited academic institution
- Around 3 years post qualification experience
- Banking sector client experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Conducting monthly audit for all client properties to identify gaps and provide solutions for improvement
- Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
- Conduct keyword research using relevant tools
- Research and analyze competitor advertising links
- Develop and implement link building strategy
- Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
- Local area marketing (Google Maps, Waze etc.)
- Google My Business management
- Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
- Track important SEO metrics including organic traffic, conversion rates and time spent on page
- Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
- Follow SEO trends and stay up-to-date with new tools and practices
- Optimize pages for Mobile
Requirements
- Proven SEO experience of minimum 3 years
- Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
- Experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
- Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
- BS/MS degree in a quantitative, test-driven field
Desired candidate profile
1. Search Engine Algorithm Knowledge
- Understanding how search engines (especially Google) rank and index pages
- Keeping up-to-date with search engine algorithm updates (e.g., Google’s Core Updates, Panda, Penguin, RankBrain)
- Ability to adapt strategies based on changes in search engine algorithms
2. Keyword Research and Analysis
- Conducting keyword research to identify valuable search terms and phrases
- Using tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Moz for keyword analysis
- Understanding keyword intent and selecting the best keywords for targeting
3. On-Page SEO
- Optimizing page titles, meta descriptions, headers, and URL structures for target keywords
- Ensuring proper internal linking to improve site navigation and link equity
- Improving website content to be keyword-rich, informative, and user-friendly
- Optimizing image alt text, and utilizing schema markup for rich snippets
4. Content Strategy and Optimization
- Developing a content strategy aligned with SEO goals (blog posts, landing pages, etc.)
- Optimizing existing content to improve relevance and readability
- Ensuring content is high-quality, engaging, and provides value to users
- Creating and promoting content to increase backlinks and social signals
5. Link Building and Backlink Strategy
- Building high-quality backlinks through outreach, guest posts, and partnerships
- Identifying and acquiring backlinks from authoritative and relevant sources
- Monitoring and disavowing harmful or low-quality backlinks
6. Technical SEO
- Understanding website structure and ensuring that search engines can crawl and index content
- Implementing structured data (Schema.org) to enhance search engine visibility
- Optimizing website speed and ensuring mobile responsiveness
- Resolving issues like duplicate content, broken links, and 404 errors
- Conducting site audits using tools like Screaming Frog or Google Search Console
7. Analytics and Reporting
- Using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO tools to track performance
- Analyzing traffic, rankings, conversions, and other important SEO metrics
- Reporting SEO performance and providing actionable insights to stakeholders
