Roles and responsibilities
We are looking for a strong Program Manager with the vision, and operational capability to build and deliver high fidelity events. This role will excite you if you are looking to transform the way Middle East & North Africa (MENA) buys and sells and eventually change millions of lives. This role will require you to work closely with key stakeholders to plan and execute these events. This role is inherently high-visibility and cross-functional, requiring synergy and influence with many consumer business units across Amazon. A successful candidate will be highly organized, analytical, excel at managing and influencing broad stakeholder groups, able to work extremely effectively in a complex organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of inputs into a successful event. This will require excellent written and oral communication skills, data-driven analyses and insights, excellent business judgment, strong interpersonal skills, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for customers. S/he must enjoy context-switching and operating at all levels of the organization to deliver results. A successful candidate will be a thought leader who inspires other teams by example to invent and execute on behalf of Amazon’s customers.
Key job responsibilities
- This role involves executing high-quality events while driving process improvements and efficiency gains across operational teams. The focus is on inventing and simplifying processes to reduce effort and enhance performance.
- The Program Manager follows the "Plan – Execute – Manage – Monitor" framework:
Plan: Conceptualize and align on event constructs, set goals with key stakeholders (e.g., category, marketing, finance, operations), and finalize the event playbook.
Execute: Ensure teams adhere to the playbook, manage deviations, track milestones, and co-own automation of daily event reports and dashboards.
Manage: Resolve issues, address conflicts, and support experimentation plans.
Monitor: Lead event related meeting, address action items from standups, and escalate red flags or deviations in event metrics.
- The role requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Senior Leadership, Marketing, Category, Deals, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Prime, Tech, and Program teams. This ensures alignment, timely milestone closures, and the successful delivery of events.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- MBA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

- Plan, organize, and execute all logistics for events, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the organization or client.
- Develop event timelines and checklists to track progress and ensure deadlines are met.

- Prepare event budgets and monitor spending to ensure that costs stay within the allocated budget.
- Handle all financial aspects of events, including vendor payments, expense tracking, and managing invoices.

Vendor and Venue Management:
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with event vendors such as caterers, photographers, entertainers, and decorators.
- Secure venues, ensure that all necessary permits and insurance are in place, and ensure the venue meets event requirements.

Logistical Coordination:
- Coordinate transportation, accommodations, and technical setups (e.g., AV equipment, staging) for events.
- Oversee event setups, ensuring that all equipment and materials are ready before the event starts.

Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and traditional advertising.
- Ensure that event branding and promotional materials align with the event theme and goals.

Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage and lead a team of event coordinators, volunteers, or staff, delegating tasks and ensuring they are completed efficiently.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to team members during the event to ensure smooth execution.

Event Registration and Attendee Management:
- Oversee event registration processes, ensuring smooth sign-ins, name tags, and access for attendees.
- Manage attendee communication, ensuring they have all the necessary information about the event, including schedules and logistics.

Post-Event Evaluation and Reporting:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the event’s success, gather attendee feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare event reports, including budget breakdowns, attendance data, and post-event analysis for clients or senior management.

Customer and Client Relationship Management:
- Communicate with clients to understand their goals, provide recommendations, and ensure their needs are met throughout the event process.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and maintain strong relationships for future event opportunities.

Crisis Management:
- Respond quickly to any issues or emergencies that may arise during the event (e.g., vendor cancellations, technical difficulties).
- Provide solutions to ensure minimal disruption and a seamless experience for attendees.
