Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy for certain industries within the EMEA region
  • Set relevant KPIs for lead generation, demand generation and brand awareness campaigns; monitor and improve them on a regular basis
  • Build organic and paid campaigns from scratch including crafting strong messaging, and creating visual assets for emails, social media and paid ads in line with canonical’s brand look & feel
  • Own webinars and regional offline events at all stages from planning to execution including holistic pre- and post-event/webinar strategies, webinar set up, streaming
  • Work with the CRM Team to attract, convert, engage and communicate with new and existing audiences
  • Be fully responsible for the regional budget planning and execution constantly monitoring and adjusting it accordingly
  • Collaborate extensively with regional Sales teams to get their insights and implement them to the regional marketing strategy

We expect members of the Canonical marketing team to be excellent communicators who are at ease working with a complex mix of engineers, product managers, sales representatives and executives.

What We Are Looking For In You

  • Experience in B2B marketing for enterprise IT products, SaaS experience
  • Experience working with the EMEA market
  • Excellent academic results, with Bachelor’s or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or STEM
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills in English
  • Hands-on mindset and ability to test various marketing assumptions attributing to scaling the most efficient ways of achieving positive marketing results
  • Growth mindset - enthusiasm for challenges and work ethic with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Objectivity and openness to others' views while continuously building a positive team spirit
  • Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality

Desired candidate profile

1. Marketing Strategy Development

  • Campaign Strategy: Develop comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s business goals, target audience, and market positioning.
  • Brand Positioning: Ensure that the company’s brand messaging, values, and image are consistent across all channels and resonate with the target audience.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes to inform marketing strategies and decisions.
  • Target Audience Segmentation: Define customer segments and ensure that marketing efforts are tailored to effectively reach and engage these groups.

2. Campaign Execution and Management

  • Campaign Planning: Create detailed marketing plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for various campaigns (e.g., product launches, promotions, events).
  • Cross-Channel Marketing: Oversee campaigns across multiple channels, such as digital marketing (social media, email, SEO, SEM), print, television, radio, and events.
  • Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate with different teams (creative, content, digital, product, sales, etc.) to ensure the timely and effective execution of campaigns.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with content teams to ensure that marketing materials (ads, blog posts, videos, email newsletters, etc.) align with brand standards and campaign goals.

3. Brand Management

  • Brand Awareness: Develop and execute strategies to increase brand awareness and enhance brand recognition in the market.
  • Consistency: Ensure that the company’s brand messaging and voice are consistent across all marketing touchpoints.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers through social media, content, and personalized marketing tactics to build strong relationships and loyalty.

4. Performance Monitoring and Analytics

  • Campaign Tracking: Use analytics tools to track and measure the performance of marketing campaigns. Monitor KPIs such as ROI (Return on Investment), CTR (Click-Through Rate), conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs (CAC).
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports to assess campaign effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Optimization: Continuously analyze results and optimize campaigns based on performance data. This could include adjusting ad creatives, targeting strategies, or budgets to improve results.

5. Budget Management

  • Budget Allocation: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively across channels and initiatives.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control marketing expenses, ensuring that campaigns stay within budget while maximizing ROI.

6. Collaboration and Leadership

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, ensuring that they have the resources and support to execute campaigns effectively.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and other departments to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with overall company goals.
  • External Partnerships: Manage relationships with external partners, agencies, vendors, and influencers to ensure the successful execution of marketing campaigns.

7. Customer Insights and Innovation

  • Consumer Behavior: Understand customer behavior through surveys, focus groups, feedback, and analytics to better tailor marketing campaigns.
  • Market Trends: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor activities to ensure that marketing efforts are innovative and competitive.
  • New Campaign Ideas: Continuously propose and implement new marketing ideas, strategies, and tactics to increase engagement and drive growth.
