Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical assignments, work elements, work packages, and project engineering design activities under supervision.
- Conduct numerical analysis and prepare technical reports.
- Utilize software to undertake engineering design.
- Participate in site visits and design team meetings as required.

Desired candidate profile
1. Technical Skills
- Structural Analysis: Ability to use engineering principles to analyze loads, stresses, and forces acting on structures such as buildings, bridges, and dams.
- Design Skills: Knowledge of design principles for various structures using materials like steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
- Building Codes and Standards: Familiarity with local, national, and international standards such as Eurocodes, AISC, ACI, or BS codes for design, construction, and safety.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with engineering software tools like:
- AutoCAD (for 2D drafting)
- Revit (for building information modeling)
- SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD Pro (for structural analysis)
- SolidWorks (for detailed modeling, if applicable)
- MATLAB or Excel for calculations and modeling.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Understanding of FEA for simulating physical behavior under stress, especially for complex or unusual structures.
- Construction Methods: Knowledge of construction techniques and methods, such as concrete formwork, steel fabrication, and modular construction.
2. Problem-Solving Skills
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess complex problems, think critically, and provide innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Precision is essential in ensuring that designs are accurate, safe, and practical.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve design or construction issues promptly.
3. Project Management Skills
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, including architects, contractors, and other engineers.
- Cost Estimation: Understanding how to estimate project costs, materials, and labor requirements accurately.
- Risk Assessment: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with structural design and construction projects.
4. Communication Skills
- Report Writing: Ability to prepare technical reports, design documentation, and progress reports that are clear and well-organized.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Client Interaction: Interfacing with clients to understand their needs, providing progress updates, and explaining design concepts.
5. Knowledge of Materials
- Material Science: Understanding the properties of various construction materials like concrete, steel, timber, etc., and how they behave under different environmental conditions.
- Sustainability: Awareness of sustainable engineering practices, such as using recycled materials or designing energy-efficient structures.
