The Senior Director Supply Chain executes Supply Chain or Supply Chain strategy to achieve key business objectives. Their work is guided by company strategy and Supply Chain business objectives and directly impacts business results. They evaluate key business challenges and direct the development of new and innovative solutions. This role requires the application of in-depth knowledge of the Supply Chain, business, and commercial expertise to differentiate McDermott from the competition.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead the business line strategic direction for the Supply Chain function
- Guide the supply chain strategy for projects
- Understand and liaise with the major suppliers and customers
- Lead other supply chain leaders
- Interact with global discipline counterparts, regional and corporate leadership
- Plan and administer the budget for resources, initiatives, services, and subscriptions for the business line Set the tone for diversity, resource training and development process
- Retain and develop sufficient pool of subject matter experts in the region or work with Global leadership to support projects
- Manage annual performance and salary review
- Develop a succession plan for key resources
- Utilize aggressive supply management strategies and best practices to develop and implement plans that govern sourcing and acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in support of project requirements
- Monitor project procurement-related activities, and provide direction and support to team members as necessary to ensure the successful delivery of established project requirements
- Lead efforts to establish proposal support strategy and review proposal input to ensure procurement and subcontracting content complements identified needs and will permit us to submit a competitive tender
- Ensure compliance with established company’s policies and procedures as documented in the management system
- Ensure attainment of the project and operating budgets and specific financial objectives, including effort hour budgets
- Manage business line personnel assignments
- Ensure problems are identified in a timely manner and appropriate corrective action plans are developed to allow resolution; participate in resolving disputes, claims, and performance issues
- Oversee the development and administration of all subcontracts to ensure compliance with standard contractual provisions, appropriate performance against the statement of work, timely execution of change orders, and prompt closeout upon satisfactory completion of work
- Work with a team of peers in other locations to provide and share information that will contribute to the global goals of the organization
- Represent the organization to suppliers

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- 15+ years of prior domestic and international procurement experience including major equipment acquisition, construction contracting, logistics, subcontract administration, and claims resolution
- Organize and disciplined individual with well-developed communication skills
- Demonstrate an ability to accomplish established objectives within a diverse corporate environment including within an international environment
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be confident enough to make complex decisions
- Comfortable with detail and possess a robust system focus as well as a reputation for integrity, maturity, and an ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced multi-faceted business environment
- Strong interpersonal skills required to deal effectively with operational management throughout the organization
- Leadership capability to develop and supervise quality staff, set direction, manage programs, and bring projects to fruition
- Proven procurement professional and team player with the ability to assume increasing responsibilities beyond those outlined in this specification
