Roles and responsibilities
The Mechanical Technician optimize the performance of mechanical products, machinery, and equipment. They assist mechanical supervisor to analyze performance results and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing and performing diagnostic test on mechanical system
- Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
- Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
- Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
- Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
- Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Check equipment and operating systems and correct wherever necessary.
- Handle personal tools for job including up to date documented personal tool list
- Handle time accounting and complete HOTSOS work order.
- Use hand tools like power equipment and rigging equipment daily.
- Weld using cutting torch.
- Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like scissor-lifts and building equipment unit (BMU).
- Resolve motor, pump, conveyor, and hydraulic problems
- Ensure high level of technical support to lower-level technicians
Qualifications And Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years working experience in Engineering Department in a hotel
- Knowledge of Engineering Operations in the Hotel
- Previous experience in operation and maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical equipment
- Ability to trouble shoot and maintain commercial equipment and related installations in the Hotel
- High school diploma or GED and/or an associate degree supplemented by specialized training in the mechanical trades

- A broad understanding of building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems is essential.
- Ability to use tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs, including diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs and installations.

- Ability to quickly diagnose and address issues with various systems, whether it's a plumbing leak, electrical outage, or HVAC malfunction.

- The ability to work with manual tools and perform repairs safely.
