The Transport Coordinator for the petrochemical sector is responsible for managing and optimizing the transportation logistics of petrochemical products. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, coordinating with carriers, and facilitating effective communication between various departments to ensure timely and safe delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transportation Planning and Coordination:
o Develop and implement efficient transportation plans for the movement of petrochemical products.
o Monitor and adjust schedules to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing costs.
2. Carrier Management:
o Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate transportation carriers for petrochemical shipments.
o Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers.
3. Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to hazardous materials and petrochemical products.
o Conduct regular safety audits and ensure proper training for all transport personnel on safety procedures.
4. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
o Maintain accurate records for all shipments, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and compliance documentation.
o Prepare reports on transportation metrics, performance, and compliance for management review.
5. Problem Resolution:
o Proactively identify and resolve transportation issues, including delays, damages, or compliance concerns.
o Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, sales) to manage logistics challenges effectively.
6. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs within the transportation function.
o Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to petrochemical logistics.
7. Communication:
o Act as the primary point of contact for transport-related inquiries and issues within the organization and with external partners.
o Facilitate effective communication between logistics, operations, and sales teams to align transportation activities with business goals.

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

5 years of experience in transport coordination, preferably in the petrochemical or hazardous materials industry.

Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements for hazardous materials.

Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
