Roles and responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight:
  • Oversee all aspects of construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Review and approve construction drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess quality, safety, and compliance.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team on water-related engineering issues, including: Water distribution network design and construction. Wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance. Wastewater collection systems
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and construction personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Client Relations:
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and resolve issues.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Review and approve inspection reports and test results.
  • Identify and mitigate quality risks.
• Safety Management:
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures on the construction site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Contract Administration:
  • Review and administer construction contracts.
  • Process change orders, claims, and payment applications.
  • Monitor contractor performance and enforce contract terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in water engineering and project management.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex water infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of water treatment, distribution, and wastewater treatment processes.
• Stormwater management systems design and construction
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Desired candidate profile

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience working on projects in the Middle East, particularly the UAE.
• Knowledge of local regulations and standards.
