Roles and responsibilities
The EPCI Digital Project Lead will be responsible for championing digital execution in EPCI projects within the oil and gas industry, utilizing AVEVA suite of applications Unified Engineering and Smart Plant. This role involves collaborating with business functions to identify and implement productivity improvements and acting as a liaison between IT and business functions for digitalization initiatives. The candidate will communicate effectively with various organizational levels, including executive leadership, project management, and functional SMEs, to identify KPIs for project delivery and ensure their alignment and benefit realization within the overall EPCI processes. They will implement systems to publish dashboards for tracking, monitoring, and actioning KPI data, digitize inputs and outputs at each EPCI process stage, and aggregate lessons learned from previous digital solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall Digital integration and delivery requirement as per Digital SOW of project
- Work with client, Software vendor, internal IT & Digital resources
- Implement and optimize digital tools to enhance project efficiency and delivery
- Facilitate information flow between disciplines for consistent data, efficiency gains, and reduced non-quality costs
- Provide technical support and training on digital tools to project teams
- Report to the digital steering committee on the advances made with digital tools
- Develop processes to ensure consistent and accurate data capture for a true digital twin
- Stay updated on the latest digital engineering tools and technologies
- Work with partners and clients to get insights and share ours with the wider digital world within the industry for continual improvement
- Be proactive with sharing learnings with Global McDermott Project and Engineering delivery teams
- Work with relevant functions to keep corporate procedures and processes up to date with respect to digital execution
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a focus on a specific engineering domain to ensure a strong understanding of the engineering data flow between disciplines
- Has used both AVEVA suite of applications including Aveva Unified Engineering and Hexagon SmartPlant suite of application
- Good understanding of Analytics applications
- Good knowledge of application integration, data management and presentation of Analytical Dashboards
- Comes from an engineering and construction background, in the energy industry
- Strong technical background in the oil and gas industry, Engineering & Digital with a comprehensive understanding of EPCI processes across all disciplines and functions
- Conversant with information exchange between operating functions and have at least 7 years of experience in Oil & Gas EPCI Project Digital Solutions delivery, focusing on systems, work processes, and digitalization
- Exposure to Aveva and Hexagon suite of applications is strongly desirable, along with a good understanding of analytics applications, application integration, data management, and analytical dashboards presentation
- Good exposure to integration, interfaces, KPIs development, Data Extraction, modification and ingestion in the right tool through various interface technologies and standards
- Requires a candidate with a strong technical background in the industry and a deep understanding of the full EPCI process, engineering workflow between disciplines to drive digital execution effectively
